Lot number

A code shared by units made or received together, so a whole batch can be found, followed and recalled.

A lot number groups units with the same origin: made on the same day, from the same materials, or arrived in the same delivery. It's printed on the packaging, often next to an expiry date, after LOT or L.

Lots answer the questions that matter when something goes wrong: which customers got units from lot 240318, and where the rest is. In Binhop an item can be tracked by lot, with each lot's expiry date and its whole history: where it came from, every move and who bought it.
