1. Binhop
Best for: small shops that sell over the counter and online and want their whole team on the free plan: any number of people, scanning, sales and purchases that move stock, lots and serial numbers, on iPhone, iPad, Android and the web.
The catch: the free plan stops at 30 items. Beyond that, Pro is $29 a month or $149 a year, still for any number of people.
Best for: a visual list of things with photos, folders and quantities, kept by one person: stock, tools or supplies.
The catch: the free plan is for one user and 100 items. The Advanced plan is $49 a month for 2 users, with a discount in the first year when paid yearly.
Best for: companies that want one system for everything later (accounting, sales, manufacturing) and have time to set it up.
The catch: only one app is free. Inventory can be that app, for any number of users, but adding a second one, such as Sales or Point of Sale, means paying for every user: from €11.90 per user a month, billed yearly.
inFlow isn't on this list because it has no free plan: it offers a 14-day trial, and its plans start at $129 a month.
How these were chosen
Each app here has a free plan you can keep using, not just a trial, and works on a phone. They're compared on what a small shop needs first: how much the free plan holds, how many people can use it, what the first paid plan costs, and lot and serial number tracking. Prices are in the currency each company's page shows.
Yes, several have free plans you can keep using, with limits. Binhop is free up to 30 items for any number of people, Sortly up to 100 items for one user, Zoho Inventory up to 50 orders a month for one user, and Odoo for one app.
Which free inventory app suits a small shop with staff?+
If several people sell and receive stock, look first at how many users the free plan allows. Binhop and Odoo allow any number of people on their free plans; Sortly and Zoho Inventory allow one.
What happens when I outgrow the free plan?+
In Binhop nothing is deleted or locked: only adding items beyond 30 needs Pro. For the others, their pricing pages, linked above, explain their limits and plans.
Sortly, Zoho, Odoo and inFlow are trademarks of their owners. Binhop isn't affiliated with them.
